πΈ Signs of the Light
Iβve been in this space in my career where I feel like Iβm ready to learn new things and figure out whatβs next for my creative journey. Honestly, βself-improvementβ is kind of my hobby. I love signing up for classes, searching for new knowledge, and expanding into everything Iβm curious about.
Thatβs what led me to a 7-week artist program Iβm currently enrolled in β and itβs been really cool so far. Each week, Iβm discovering aspects of being an artist and entrepreneur that I hadnβt even thought about yet.
This past weekend was Week Two, and the conversation centered around dream lives:
πΈ What do you want your career to look like?
πΈ. How do you want your life to feel?
πΈ. Who do you want to become?
Of course, Iβve dreamed about who I want to be and what I want to experience β but writing it down, specifically, without fear of it sounding "too big" or "too cringy," was different.
It made me realize: Life responds to specificity. Dreams require detail. You have to be bold enough to say exactly what you want.
After class, the guest speaker β an artist and curator for a university β shared his own incredible story. I wanted to ask him more questions, but so did everyone else. Instead of waiting around, I decided to explore β I found a really cute spot for selfies (LOL priorities). I told myself, βI'm sure we'll cross paths again.β
As I was heading out, our paths did cross.
He stopped me and asked, βWhatβs your name? Whatβs your art/story?β
I told him, and he paused for a moment and said:
βI recognize your name. I voted for you to win the Emerging Artist Award this year.β πΈ
I was stunned.
I had never met him before.
He already knew who I was.
He had already seen and believed in my work.
Itβs moments like that β unexpected, soft confirmations β that remind me:
God, the universe, the ancestors β they're always sending signs of the light.
Even when you canβt see how close you are to blooming, someone else can.
Your work is already making waves you havenβt even felt yet.
Youβre already known in rooms you havenβt even stepped into.
Keep showing up. Keep planting seeds. Keep believing.
The light is always closer than you think.
Thank you for reading Signs of the Light. πΈ If youβre on a creative journey too, Iβd love to hear what dreams youβre chasingβ¦.
